Planets netters sweep Talbots; Yellowjackets remain unbeaten

Made Hudac had 20 assists and Lara Caraway added 12 digs as the Mars girls volleyball team blanked Hampton 25-11, 25-21, 25-16 Thursday.

Camblin Leonard chipped in with eight kills for the Planets (16-2, 12-0).

Freeport 3, Deer Lakes 0 — Madison Rotto had nine kills and 15 assists, and Carlie Bieranowski had six kills to lead the Yellowjackets to a 25-9, 25-10, 25-9 victory.Ashley Massart had five kills and Lauren Frazetta had three kills and three blocks for Freeport (15-0, 12-0).

Knoch 3, New Brighton 0 — Julia Kleinfelder had 11 kills and 13 service points, and Jessica Gross had 23 points and 15 assists to power the Knights.Stephanie Eagal had seven kills for Knoch (12-5, 10-2).

Clarion 3, A-C Valley 0 — The Bobcats blanked the Falcons 25-8, 25-17, 25-19 in KSAC play despite 12 blocks and five service points from Sam Kerlin, and 13 blocks and three kills from Kelsey Boocks.Erin Larimore added four kills and four blocks, and Katie Quail had seven assists for A-C Valley (11-2), which will compete in Saturday's Class A Playoff Preview Tournament at West Shamokin before taking part in next week's District 9 playoffs.Cross Country

Karns City 20, Kittanning 35 (boys) — Isaac John of Kittanning was the overall winner, but the Gremlins captured the next five positions en route to the win, wrapping up an undefeated regular season at 10-0.The Gremlins girls team placed all four of its runners in the top seven, but no score was kept.
