Pollock double-double lifts Union girls

Brooke Pollock scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and teammate Tina Lipps tallied 15 points and 16 rebounds as the Union girls basketball team beat visiting Clarion-Limestone, 61-55 Wednesday night.

The Damsels (7-3, 4-3) also received seven points and nine steals from Mariah Winchester, 10 points from Ashley MacKinlay and 10 boards out of Lepha Logue.

Union will travel to East Forest on Friday.

Butler competed against five teams last weekend at Alfred (N.Y.) University.Taylor Garvin scored five points in Varsity Intermediate Horsemanship and needs five more points to qualify for Zone 2 Finals. Larissa Lesney scored six points in Junior Varsity Novice Horsemanship and needs four more points for the Zone 2 Finals.The Golden Tornado team scored seven points and needs five more for the Zone 2 Finals. Carissa Chilcott scored 24 points in Future Novice Horsemanship and is now qualified for the Zone 2 Finals.Butler's next show is at Grier School in Tyrone on Jan. 31.
