Gibson 70th anniversary
Dale and Shirley Gibson of Prospect will celebrate 70 years of marriage with friends and family at a fellowship meal at the Presbyterian Church of Prospect.
Gibson married the former Shirley Roxbury March 13, 1948, at the parsonage of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Isle.
They have five children, Cathleen (David) Johnson of Franklin Township, Patric Gibson of Vero Beach, Fla., Suzanne (Leslie) Twentier of Cranesville, Daniel (Judy) Gibson of Flagler Beach, Fla., and Todd (Cyndie) Gibson of Prospect.
They also have 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Gibson retired from Butler Floor Co. after 44 years as a carpenter. He is a member of the carpenter's union. His natural talent for construction has been a blessing for his family.
In his retirement, he has been an avid golfer in Pennsylvania and Florida.Mrs. Gibson is a housewife. She also was a school bus driver and worked at Agway Seed Co.She is a member of the Prospect Women's Club and the 20th Century Club and she served on the board of the Prospect Library.The Gibsons are members of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect where Mrs. Gibson has been an elder and a Sunday school teacher. She also sings in the choir for weddings.
