Butler's Amanda Skidmore slams the ball back at a Shaler player during the Butler Invitational Saturday. The Titans captured a 26-24 victory over the Golden Tornado in the final game of the championship match to claim the tourney title.

Wes Phipps scored on runs of 2 and 33 yards and the Grove City defense held Erie East to 216 total yards in a 21-6 football win at Erie Veterans Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Junior quarterback Tyler Dagres also was efficient for the Eagles (1-0), connecting on 6-of-8 passes for 77 yards.

He found tight end Chauncey Miller three times for 56 yards.

Eric Record, who scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter to give the Eagles a 14-0 lead, led Grove City's balanced rushing attack with 61 yards on seven carries.

Harold Price rushed for 60 yards and Phipps ended up with 59 yards on nine attempts for the Eagles.
