Craig, Carpenter help Planets topple Talbots

Kaitlyn Craig and Liz Carpenter won at No. 1 and 3 singles, respectively, as the Mars girls tennis team defeated Hampton 4-1 Tuesday afternoon.

The Planets (6-1, 3-1) travel to North Hills on Thursday.

The Butler girls won the 37th McDowell Invitational over the weekend, besting a 25-team field. Team members included Ashley Crawford, Rachel Konieczny, Sarah Getsay, Ashton Dolan, Trisha Brandt, Danica Snyder and Alexis Swiergol.The Golden Tornado boys finished seventh.
