Phipps' 2 TDs spark Eagles

Grove City High put together a strong fourth quarter to pull away from Corry for a 24-9 football victory Friday night.

The Eagles (2-0) took a 13-9 lead into the final quarter before adding two touchdowns, courtesy of a 5-yard Wes Phipps run and an 8-yard scamper by quarterback Tyler Dagres.

Phipps rushed for 67 yards and two touchdowns. Eric Record paced the Eagles with 14 carries for 94 yards.

Corry's Adam Zimmerman had 16 carries for 103 yards in a losing cause.

Punxsutawney 62, A-C Valley 0 — The Falcons (0-2) managed only 11 yards of offense while suffering their 42nd consecutive loss.Punxsutawney quarterback Logan Weaver threw three touchdown passes, and running backs Jamie Bish and Ben Blazavich scored two TDs each for the Chucks.Punxsutawney had a 54-0 lead by halftime.
