Grove City flexes muscles, beats Greenville
Harold Price, Wes Phipps and Chad Williams each scored two touchdowns to lead host Grove City to a 48-7 nonconference victory over Greenville Friday.
Foster Reznor led the Eagles (4-0) in rushing (109 yards on 10 carries) and receiving (123 yards on five catches) as Grove City jumped out to a 41-7 halftime lead.
Price and Grant Craig each returned blocked punts for touchdowns.
The Eagles limited the Greenville rushing attack to just 45 yards and 159 yards of offense overall.
Burrell 33, Freeport 25 — Despite 131 yards and two touchdown passes by Brendan Lynch, the Yellowjackets fell in this Allegheny Conference contest.Damon Smith and Tony DeVivo each pulled in a scoring pass from Lynch, who completed 9-of-15 passes.Dustin Koedel also returned a kickoff 91 yards and kicker Dave Heidenger added a 25-yard field goal and two extra points for Freeport (2-2, 1-1).Smith and Lynch finished with 91 and 85 yards rushing, respectively.Cole Bush led the Bucs (3-1, 2-0) with 24 carries for 141 yards and three touchdowns.
Brookville 50, A-C Valley 6 — The Falcons lit up the scoreboard in the first quarter with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Colton Cunningham to Austin Morgan, but it was the final time A-C Valley (0-4) found the end zone.Cunningham finished the game passing 14-for-29 for 165 yards with a score and two interceptions. Mike Suto led the Falcons in rushing with 83 yards on eight carries and also tallied three receptions for 23 yards.Morgan totaled 66 receiving yards on three catches, while Jeff Eaton, Andrew Strauser, Justin Rothen and Kevin Kaufman each reeled in two passes.Jimmy Holton paced the Falcon defense with nine solo tackles, five assists and a fumble recovery.
