Knoch duos advance to WPIALs
Katie Conlon and Peggy Kanterman were in an unusual situation at the WPIAL Section 3-AA girls tennis doubles championship Friday at Oxford Athletic Club.
The duo's opponent in the title match: their teammates Abby Conlon and Alyssa King.
Both teams had received first-round byes before disposing of three straight opponents to reach the finals, where Katie Conlon and Kanterman claimed a 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 victory.
Both of Knoch's duos will compete in the WPIAL Class AA Championships, to be held Thursday at a site to be determined.
