Time to mock the NFL draft
My hair may not be as awesome as Mel Kiper, but I can mock a NFL draft like him.
It’s one of my favorite days of the year: the NFL Player Selection Meeting — aka the NFL Draft.
Team’s futures hinge on who they will take tonight.
Here’s how I think all 32 picks will unfold:
No. 1, Buccaneers: QB Jameis Winston. It’s a bad year to be bad and need a QB. Both Winston and Marcus Mariota are flawed, but the Bucs have to pull the trigger on Winston.
No. 2, Titans: QB Marcus Mariota. I don’t really think the Titans will stay here. A team, like the Eagles, will move up to this slot
No. 3, Jaguars: Leonard Williams, DT/DE. Best player in the draft.
No. 4, Raiders: Amari Cooper, WR.
No. 5, Redskins: Dante Fowler, LB/DE.
No. 6, Jets: Vic Beasley, DE/LB.
No. 7, Bears: Kevin White, WR. Jay Cutler needs another weapon to overthrow.
No. 8, Falcons: Alvin Dupree, DE/LB.
No. 9, Giants: Brandon Sherff, OT.
No. 10, Rams: DeVante Parker, WR. Defense is not a problem for the Rams.
No. 11, Vikings: Todd Gurley, RB. If (when) Adrian Peterson gets traded.
No. 12, Browns: Danny Shelton, DT. If they don’t move up to get Mariota.
No. 13, Saints: Andrus Peat, OT.
No. 14, Dolphins: Trae Waynes, CB.
No. 15, 49ers: Kevin Johnson, CB.
No. 16, Texans: Arik Armstead, DE/DT.
No. 17, Chargers: Ereck Flowers, OT. If they don’t dump Philip Rivers and move up to get Mariota.
No. 18, Chiefs: La’el Collins, OT.
No. 19, Browns: Dorial Green-Beckham, WR. Because it wouldn’t be the Browns without an off-the-field time bomb at wideout.
No. 20, Eagles: Mariota (or Byron Jones, CB). Chip Kelly is going to end up with Mariota one way or another.
No. 21, Bengals: Randy Gregory, DE/LB.
No. 22, Steelers: Landon Collins, S (or Byron Jones, CB). Troy Polamalu and his flowing hair is gone. The Steelers need help on defense and this will be the first of many selections on that side of the ball.
No. 23, Lions: Melvin Gordon, RB.
No. 24, Cardinals: Malcom Brown, DE.
No. 25, Panthers: Breshad Perriman, WR.
No. 26, Ravens: Shaq Thompson, LB.
No. 27, Cowboys: Jalen Collins, CB.
No. 28, Broncos: Cameron Erving, OL. They need to keep Peyton Manning upright.
No. 29, Colts: Jordan Phillips, DT.
No. 30, Packers: Eric Kendricks, LB.
No. 31, Saints: Maxx Williams, TE.
No. 32, Patriots: Devin Smith, WR.
