George and Janet Tweed

George and Janet Tweed of Harmony will celebrate 50 years of marriage with a family dinner and a surprise getaway from their children.

Tweed married the former Janet Measel on Sept. 1, 1966.

They have three children, Gary Tweed of Evans City, George Tweed of Cranberry Township and Tammy Carr of Harmony.

They also have six grandchildren.

Tweed retired from AK Steel.

He is a life member of the National Rifle Association.

Mrs. Tweed is a retired waitress.

The Tweeds are members of St. John’s United Evangelical Protestant “Burry’s” Church in Rochester.

They have been members of Guys and Gals Bowling League for 35 years.
