PORTERSVILLE — The Portersville Christian School Fine Arts Boosters will present “Annie” at 7 p.m. April 26, 27 and 28 at the school, 343 E. Portersville Road.

In addition, there will be a free senior citizens matinee at 1 p.m. April 25 at the final dress rehearsal.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for college students with ID, $5 for students, and free for children age 5 and younger.

Tickets can be purchased either by printing out an order form from the homepage of the school's website, www.portersvillechristianschool.org, and mailing it in with payment and a self-addressed stamped envelope or by stopping at the school office from 8:30 to 10 a.m. or from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Tickets also will be available at the door each evening.

A beloved musical since its debut in 1982 and based on the Little Orphan Annie comic strip, “Annie” is popular due, in part, to its well-known songs such as “Tomorrow,” “Maybe,” and “It's a Hard-Knock Life,” spirited dance numbers, and the irrepressible Annie character.

During the Depression, Annie lives in a New York City orphanage run by the ill-tempered Miss Hannigan.

When Annie is chosen to spend the Christmas holidays with wealthy industrialist Oliver Warbucks, Miss Hannigan is infuriated.

Warbucks is charmed by Annie's spunk and good spirits and is eager to adopt her, but Annie is convinced that one day her real parents will come back to claim her. Warbucks loves Annie enough to offer a $50,000 reward in the search for her folks.

That's when Miss Hannigan's con-artist brother, Rooster, and his girlfriend, Lily, concoct a scheme to pose as Annie's long lost parents.

The show is being directed and choreographed by Courtney Ingram with Ryan Ingram, vocal coach; Hannah Winkle, accompanist; Craig Carnahan, extra accompaniment; and Tyler Kison, percussion.

Sheila Powers is the producer, and Ed Oliver is house manager.

Christine Oesterling is stage manager/student director, Ben McDonald, assistant stage manager, and Jenny Mangiapane, stage manager in training. Courtney Ingram is set manager and Michelle Slater, Makayla Mercier, Ashley Hoban and Tealey Ingram, student choreographers.

Lou Anschuetz and Joel Sloat is handling sound and Nathaniel Oesterling, lights, and Kiara Oesterling and Melanie Kennedy are in charge of makeup.
