Blagg lifts SV softball with game-winning single in 7th
Sarah Blagg's base hit in the bottom of the seventh inning drove in Cassie Dachik with the winning run as Seneca Valley's softball team defeated Latrobe 2-1 Monday afternoon.
Emily Watson pitched a complete game for the win, striking out three and walking three.
Blagg and Julia Vandrak both had two singles and an RBI for the Raiders (2-0).
Elsewhere:
• Alyssa Meta's bat helped Freeport survive a slugfest with host Highlands.
Meta collected four hits, including a double and home run as the Yellowjackets won the game 11-7.
• Holly Colosimo allowed just one run on two hits as Moniteau thumped Venango Catholic 12-1 in five innings.
