No Mars wrestler has ever medaled at the PIAAChampionships.

Dave Pisarcik took a big step toward doing that Thursday.

Pisarcik won his first-round matchup against Brandywine Heights' Brad Stoudt 5-0 in the Class AA 189-pound division Thursday at the Giant Center in Hershey to improve to 46-0.

Pisarcik will face Cochranton's Jerod Northcott (32-3), the Northwest's No. 3 seed, in the quarterfinals this morning.

Pete King, the Planets' other qualifier, lost to No. 1-ranked Scott Snyder (43-0) of Northern Lehigh 5-2 in the first round of the 215-pound bracket, but King (34-10) did rebound with a pin against Ed Renninger of Sheffield in 4:29 in the first-round consolations.

King will compete in the second-round consolations at 10:30 a.m. today. Semifinals and third-round consolations for Class AA will be at 7 p.m.
