Awde, Smith

Nedal Awde of Boston and Micah Smith of Stamford, Conn., were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Oct. 9 at St. George Orthodox Church in West Roxbury, Mass. The Rev. Timothy Ferguson officiated. A reception was held at the Sheraton Needham Hotel.

The bride is the daughter of Halim and Labebe Awde of Westwood, Mass. Parents of the bridegroom are Ronald Smith of West Sunbury and Kathy Tinker of Emlenton.

The bride was presented for marriage by her brother, George Awde of Beirut, Lebanon.

The honor attendant was Raghida Awde of Westwood. Bridesmaids included Rania Awde and Karen Heriaki, both of Westwood; Sue Santos of Walpole, Mass.; and Ana Grandjaques of Greenwich, Conn. The flower girl was Serena Jabour of Norwood, Mass.

Performing the duties of best man was Matthew Smith of Washington, D.C. Ushers included John Dellich of Boyers; Jason Thomas of Bellefonte; Jason Reep of Nottingham, Md.; and Robert Fossaceca of Bethesda, Md.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Westwood High School and a 2000 graduate of Boston University. She works for Starwood Hotels and Resorts in White Plains, N.Y.

The bridegroom graduated in 1995 from Moniteau High School and in 1999 from Penn State University. He works for Exxon Mobil in Stamford.

Following a honeymoon trip to Aruba, the couple is making their home in Stamford.
