Knoch girls blank Indiana; Planets overwhelm Valley

Gabi Lassinger scored twice to lead the Knoch girls soccer team to a 5-0 win over visiting Indiana Monday night.

The victory clinched a WPIAL Class AAA playoff berth for the Knights (11-4, 9-3), who also received goals from Olivia Sharbaugh, Krista Burdett and Audra Hunter.

Lexie Galbreath made six saves in the shutout.

Mars 15, Valley 0 — Amber Fichter (three), Beth Perri, Lydia Dennis and Karli Paracca (two apiece) each scored multiple goals for the Planets (12-1-1, 12-0).

Jordyn White, Erica Schwab, and Shea O'Connor held the Vikings to no shots on goal.

Karns City 13, Clarion 0 — Chelsea McCartney tallied five goals and Breann Wood four goals to power the Gremlins over the Bobcats. Emily LoPresti added two goals and Aubrie Ball and Maggie McKain added one each for Karns City (14-0), which hosts Wilmington Thursday.

Butler 1, Hampton 0 — Rachel Weyand scored off an assist from Macy Stalnaker for the game's lone goal to key the Tornado win.

Butler (7-7-1), which also received 10 saves from Mackenzie Troyan, will play at Seneca Valley Wednesday.

Karns City 3, Clarion-Limestone 1 — Heather Henry had 10 kills and 10 service points and Brittany Cochran added 11 points in the Gremlins' 26-24, 22-25, 25-15, 25-22 victory.Kendyll Smith added 11 kills and five points and Kristen Smith 25 assists and five points for Karns City (7-5), which plays at Clarion Thursday.

Slippery Rock 3, Franklin 2 — Cole McCandless, Mark Cessar and Justin Stutz each recorded a goal to lift the Rockets to victory.Zach Latorre made five saves for the Rockets (6-6-1, 5-2), who host Sharon Thursday.

First Baptist Christian school 3, Harvest Baptist Academy 1 (volleyball) — Kenzi Uber had 15 service points and four aces and Hildi Burleigh 17 assists and seven kills to lead FBCS.
