KC girls at 17-0

Emily LoPresti scored two goals as Karns City stayed undefeated with a 4-0 girls soccer victory Wednesday night over Punxsutawney.

Mary Sigworth and Megan Hegedus also scored for the Gremlins (17-0), who host Hickory at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Morgan Deal had three saves in goal to earn the shutout.

Slippery Rock 4, Meadville 0 — Harley Boyd scored a pair of goals for the Rockets (9-6, 7-2) in this Tuesday win. Marissa Siebka and Hannah Elliott added tallies and Raquel Huff had six saves to record the shutout.

Josh Jones scored a first-half goal to put Slippery Rock (7-8-1, 6-4) up 1-0, but a pair of second half tallies by Wilmington sunk the Rockets 2-1.The Greyhounds scored the game-winner with eight minutes remaining in the match.

Grove City 3, Greenville 0 — Corianne Hyduchak had 14 service points and 13 kills and Kaitlin Miller added 10 points, 21 assists, nine digs and five kills in the Eagles' 25-21-25-22, 25-19 sweep.McKenzie Fagan added seven kills and seven blocks, Blake Bocian eight kills and seven points, Olivia Chuzie 15 assists, Stephanie Risch and Ashley McCoy 15 and nine digs, respectively, and Jordyn Wyllie six kills.Grove City's junior varsity squad also prevailed, 2-0.

Freeport's girls placed first overall at the Freedom Invitational, held at Brush Creek Park.Kayla Zboran led the Yellowjackets with a first-place finish of 20 minutes and 30 seconds and Becca Dudek was seventh at 21:46.Also placing in the top 20 for Freeport were Rachael Kubeldis (14th, 22:52), Hayley Davis (16th, 23:12) and Nicole Miller (18th, 23:22).In the boys' competition, Freeport was eighth, paced by Colin Meehan's 16th-place effort of 19:12.Caleb Smith was 32nd at 19:53.
