Mars pitchers toss no-hitter
David Bednar and Nathan Furl combined for a five-inning no-hitter as the Mars baseball team blanked Kittanning 11-0 Monday afternoon.
Bednar struck out five in four innings of work. Furl pitched a perfect fifth inning to wrap up the no-hitter.
Ben Erdahl had a pair of hits and four RBI to pace the Planets (4-3, 1-0) at the plate.

Zac Sicher scored the winning goal two minutes into the second overtime as Mars downed Gateway 9-8.It was the first varsity win for the program, which began this season.Sicher finished with a pair of goals.Blake Thompson led the Planets (1-1) with three goals in the win.
