KC, Mars post shutouts

Emily LoPresti scored two goals, while Breann Wood and Megan McCartney each added one during Karns City's 4-0 win over Mercer.

Morgan Deal had two saves to preserve the shutout for the Gremlins (5-0), who return to action on Saturday at home.

Mars 7, Highlands 0 — The Planets improved to 4-0-1 on the season by posting their second shutout.

Girls TennisButler's top singles player, Zoe McCafferty, won her first-round girls tennis match Wednesday at the WPIAL Section 2-AAA Tournament before falling in the next round.The win came by a score of 10-1 over Seneca Valley's Allie Head. McCafferty then fell to Pine-Richland's Yvon Martinez 10-2.
