Freeport soccer wins

Mars Josh Bartley sizes up a putt aganst Highlands at Saxon Golf Course in Buffalo.

Freeport's boys soccer team received goals from Mario Borino, Isaac Bigenho and Robbie Reichenbaugh in a 3-1 victory over Highlands Thursday afternoon.

Jim Mansmann, Dylan Kersten and Reichenbaugh each added an assist for the Yellowjackets (3-4, 1-2).

North Allegheny 4, Butler 0 — The Golden Tornado dropped to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in Section 2-AAA play. Butler will look to rebound at Kiski Area on Saturday.

Knoch's Celina Sanks tallied 13 kills and 10 digs, while Schaely Renfrew added 12 service points and six kills in a section sweep over Burrell.The Knights (4-1, 3-1), earned the victory by scores of 25-11, 25-20 and 25-10.Freeport 3, Deer Lakes 0 — The Yellowjackets (4-0, 3-0) were dominant in a 25-14, 25-12, 25-15 sweep.Zoe Pawlak led the way with 10 kills, 19 service points, four aces and three blocks. Jess Kelley had six kills and four blocks, while Grace Ward added 19 service points and 18 assists. Alexis Schrecengost chipped in seven kills, five service points and three blocks.Karns City 3, Clarion-Limestone 0 — The Gremlins (2-2) coasted to a sweep by margins of 25-10, 25-11 and 25-19.Kristen Smith recorded 10 service points and 11 assists, Kendyll Smith added 16 service points and five kills, while LeeAnn Gibson chipped in nine service points, five kills and five blocks.A-C Valley 3, Cranberry 1 — Makayli Terwilliger had a career-high 16 kills in the Falcons' (2-2) 18-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-18 win.Jess Callender had 10 kills and 10 digs, Melanie Lewis 13 digs and 11 assists.Mars 3, Highlands 0 — Hannah Both had seven kills to lead the Planets (3-1, 1-0), who won by scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-5.Chloe Deal added seven service aces and Maggie McKernan seven digs.Slippery Rock 3, Greenville 1 — Carly Shearer had 18 kills as the Rockets rallied for a 24-26, 25-18, 25-23, 25-17 win.Redbank Valley 3, Moniteau 0 — The Warriors (1-2) fell by scores of 25-17, 25-14 and 25-14.

Matt Gordon was medalist with a 37 as Grove City topped Slippery Rock and Sharon at a tri-match at Grove City Country Club.Gordon helped the Eagles shoot a 168 as a team. Casey Hall had 11 kills and 10 passes to lead the First Baptist volleyball team to a 25-21, 25-21, 25-23 win over Wilson.Emily Rowland added 11 service points, four aces and five assists.First Baptist Christian (soccer) 7, Wilson 0 — Brent Block had a goal and assist for FBC. Trevor Barnhart, Bosco Garcia, Hannah Roth, Alexis Barnhart, Alan Han and Ben Miller also scored for the winners.
