Hickey's 79 lifts Knoch golfers

Behind a 79 from Logan Hickey, the Knoch boys golf team edged Slippery Rock 332-336 at Oakview Country Club Wednesday afternoon.

Knoch also bested Sharon (374) and Sharpsville (388).

Slippery Rock's Mitchell May was medalist with a 78.

Knoch (332): Logan Hickey 79, Christian Evanchec 82, Ben Thoma 85, Tad Myers 86

Slippery Rock (336): Mitchell May 78, Zac McCue 83, Matt Badger 87, Ken Rall 88

North Allegheny 195, Seneca Valley 198 — Garrett Schlick shot a 36 and Tyler Leake added a 39, but the Raiders lost a heartbreaker to North Allegheny, who also beat Butler with the same 195 score.

Breann Wood and Emily Schumacher each scored a pair of goals as Karns City rolled to a 7-0 win over Clarion.Emily LoPresti, Brianna Brusamonti and Collette Stahlman also scored for the Gremlins (8-0).Morgan Deal recorded the shutout in goal for Karns City.Freeport 4, Burrell 3, OT — Megan Manke tallied the game-winning goal to lift the Yellowjackets (4-4, 3-2) to a Section 2-AA victory.Erica Jack scored twice, Natalie Martin added a goal and Mayson Kiser recorded 10 saves.

Nick Stutz scored twice and Ben Magliocca had two assists in Slippery Rock's 4-0 win against Franklin.Josh Jones and Mark Cessar also scored for the Rockets (5-2-1).
