Bartley shoots 74 at PIAA

Mars senior Josh Bartley shot a 74, the second-lowest score of the day at Heritage Hills Resort in York, in the final round of the PIAA Class AAA Golf Championships Tuesday.

The score helped Bartley jump to a 12th-place finish in the event.

Bartley was the first boys’ golfer to reach the state tournament in school history.

Mars sophomore Bridget Merten fired an 83 in the final round of the Class AAA girls championship, matching her first-round score. She finished tied for ninth.

Freeport sophomore Audrey Clawson shot an 89 in the final round of the Class AA girls event and placed 11th overall.

Girls VolleyballMars saw its season end in a 3-0 loss to South Fayette in the first round of the WPIAL Class AA playoffs.No other details were available.
