Summit wins title

Senior guard Dasonte White scored a game-high 27 points to lead Summit Academy to a 61-46 boys basketball win over visiting West Shamokin Thursday night.

The victory clinches the Section 1-AA title for the Knights (14-5, 9-1).

Summit iced the game by outscoring the Wolves 22-10 in the final quarter.

Girls Basketball

Karns City used a 24-8 second-quarter run to pull away from host A-C Valley as the Gremlins cruised to a 73-36 win.

Emily LoPresti was the biggest thorn in A-C Valley’s side, scoring a game-high 19 points. LeeAnn Gibson added 15 points and Shanel Preston 12 for the Gremlins (17-1).

Danielle Kaufman scored 12 points for the Falcons (5-13).
