Gremlins can't hold lead vs. Bison
The Karns City football team built two two-touchdown leads, but couldn't hang on to either of them in a 35-28 loss to Clearfield Friday night.
The Gremlins (8-2) scored their first-quarter touchdowns on a 24-yard pass from Cullen Williams to Jimmy Thompson and a 27 pass from Jacob King to Kaiden Powers.
But Clearfield (9-1) stormed back with a pair of second quarter touchdowns.
Karns City then moved ahead 28-14 on a 3-yard run by Eric Dodd and a 7-yard run by Powers.
Clearfield, though, scored 21 consecutive points in the final 12:04 for the win.
The game-winner was a 22-yard run by Seth Caldwell with 4:04 remaining.
Williams led Karns City with 70 yards rushing on 14 carries.
King was 6-of-11 passing for 131 yards and a touchdown.
Ridgway 35, Union/A-C Valley 14 — Lane Chalmers scored on a 69-yard run and Kody Wolfe caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from Lucas Bowser, but the Knight Falcons dropped their season finale.
Ridgway (8-2) built a 21-0 lead at the half.
