A-C Valley nets KSAC volleyball title

A-C Valley sealed its first Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference title in school history with a 25-9, 25-16, 25-15 win over Karns City.

Morgan Cratty led the Falcons, who are 13-0, with 12 service points, 14 assists, eight kills and six blocks. Halee Wetzel also added 16 service points and three kills. Alyssa Babcok contributed a team-high 14 assists.

Knoch 3, Obama Academy — Sarah Armahizer had 10 kills as the Knights swept Obama Academy 25-7, 26-24, 28-25.

Abby Fissore added eight kills and Alley Kerkan pitched in 16 service points.

Grove City 3, Greenville 0 — Bailey Risch had 11 kills, 11 service points, five aces and nine digs as the Eagles won 25-11, 26-24, 25-17.

Hannah Santom added 13 assists, nine kills and 11 digs and Ashley Jackson added nine kills for the Eagles.

Freeport 3, Burrell 0 — Meredith Tirdel registered 22 digs to help the Yellowjackets sweep the Buccaneers 25-10, 25-16, 25-10.

Zoe Pawlak had 14 kills and 20 service points, while Morgan Ruppersberger had 14 kills and four blocks. Maggie Ward handed out 55 assists for the Yellowjackets (13-1, 11-0).

Slippery Rock 3, Sharon 1 — Lexie Romeo had 20 digs and Kacie Brandenburg had six kills as the Rockets downed the Tigers 25-23, 25-10, 21-25, 25-22.

Pine-Richland 3, Butler 0 — Paige Lambermont had six kills in the Golden Tornado loss.

Boys SoccerSeneca Valley's Griffin Mathew scored with less than seven minutes remaining to complete a 3-2 come-from-behind victory in a non-conference game with West Allegheny.The Indians led 2-0 with 23 minutes remaining when the Raiders' Zach McVicker scored on an assist from Matt Saluga.Sam Patry evened the game 13 minutes later for Seneca Valley (12-1-1).Freeport 1, Karns City 0 — Bryce Hanby scored 22 minutes into the second half as the Yellowjackets (10-7) handed the Gremlins (15-1) their first loss of the season.

Girls SoccerZoe Gillan scored both Butler goals as the Golden Tornado toppled Hollidaysburg 2-0.

Cross CountrySlippery Rock's girls team picked up a 27-30 win over Reynolds on Senior Night.The Rockets were led by Tabitha Donaldson, who finished with a time of 22 minutes, 18 seconds.On the boys' side, Reynolds scored a 27-29 win.
