Butler edges Planets for OT win

Butler's Ashley Oluschak heads the ball as Mars' Dana Wonderly pressures her Wednesday in the Golden Tornado's 2-1 overtime win over the Planets.

Chelsey Rock scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as the Butler girls soccer team edged Mars 2-1 in the section opener Wednesday.

Nikki Hladik added an assist on the first goal while Taylor Troyan made 10 saves in net for the Tornado (1-1, 1-0), who host Shaler Monday.

Karns City 1, Punxsutawney 0 — Shenoa Hendell's second-half goal proved to be the difference for the Gremlins.Karns City (1-0), which outshot the Chucks 46-0, will play at Slippery Rock Tuesday.

Grove City 8, Oil City 0 — Sami Laurence, Jamie Dillaman and Michele Augspurger scored two goals each for the Eagles. Ashley Wilson and freshman Lauren Hernandez added single goals in this Tuesday game.Goalkeepers Darcie Holmes and Samantha Hanrahan combined for the shutout.
