CHERRY TWP — Moniteau High School’s eight-member team recently came in first in the small school division of the Pennsylvania Academic Decathlon State Competition.

Moniteau’s roster includes Erika Hiwiller, Carter Miller and Patrick Snyder for the honors division, Jake Taciuch, Teddy Swartzentruber and Sarah Neff for the scholastic division and Ryan Rikal and William Thompson for the varsity division.

• The individual medals each received in their divisions are below.

• For speech, Jake Taciuch won bronze, Erika Hiwiller won bronze and Carter Miller won gold.

• For art, Taciuch won gold and Miller won silver.

• For music, Taciuch won gold, Hiwiller won bronze and Miller won gold.

• For social science, Taciuch won silver, Hiwiller won bronze and Miller won silver.

• For math, Ryan Rikal won bronze and Taciuch won gold.

• For interview, Sarah Neff won silver.

• For language and literature, Taciuch won gold and Miller won gold.

• For science, Patrick Snyder won bronze.

• For economics, Teddy Swartzentruber won silver, Taciuch won gold and Miller won gold.

• For essay, Neff won silver.

• Overall, Jake Taciuch won silver.
