2:35 a.m. Aug. 26 - David Barlow, 32, of McKeesport was charged with possession of cocaine and disorderly conduct following drug testing of a rock of cocaine found in his possession. An officer witnessed Barlow standing in front of the Dollar General store on Main Street remove the rock from a baggie hidden under his baseball cap and place in the hat's rim. The officer notified two patrolmen who then approached Barlow, leading to a chase onto Jefferson Street. When police apprehended Barlow in the East Jefferson Street parking lot, the baggie couldn't be located. The rock still was in the rim of the hat, which was found in the street.3:06 a.m. Thursday - Sean McJunkin, 28, and David Lee Smith, 38, both of Butler, were served warrants and placed in Butler County Prison. McJunkin had one outstanding warrant from the county sheriff's office while Smith had three from the sheriff's office and county detectives' office. Police located both men at 528 Valencia Ave. McJunkin was hiding in the basement. When police found Smith, he was outside the residence arguing with an unidentified woman. Smith initially gave police a false identity.
10:12 a.m. Monday - A car driven by Michelle Blake, 27, of Meadville was traveling south on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township when it left the east side of the road, striking an embankment and rolling over. Although Blake and her three passengers, Jill Gustafson, 47, Lorraine Smock, 75, and Noah Blake, 6, were wearing seat belts, they were taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of injuries and released.Monday - A truck driven by John Wolfe, 32, of Petrolia struck the rear of a car driven by Melissa Riding, 29, of Butler in the westbound lane on Route 68 in Forward Township. Riding's car was stopped to turn left onto Ash Avenue. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured.Sept. 19 - Shilo Ranch reported the theft of 14 fawns between 12:01 a.m. June 1 and 3:27 p.m. Sept. 19 from its Cornetti Road location in Clearfield Township.Jan. 5 - Arthur G. Buterbaugh, 54, of Franklin Township reported a case of identity theft in which nearly $21,000 was charged on a credit card falsely obtained in his name. Police are investigating.2:55 p.m. Wednesday - A car driven by an unidentified 17-year-old male from Chicora struck the rear of a vehicle driven by an unidentified 34-year-old woman from Freeport on Route 68 in Oakland Township. The accident occurred while the woman's car was stopped delivering a newspaper to a residence and the teen's car was eastbound on Route 68 when he pulled off due to dizziness and was unable to stop. Both drivers and the woman's passenger, a 7-year-old boy, sustained minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and the young boy was in a car seat. East Butler EMS and the Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.12:15 p.m. Wednesday - A car driven by a 17-year-old male from Zelienople struck the rear of a car driven by Raymond Johnston, 74, of Renfrew on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township. Johnston was stopped to turn left into a business. Neither driver was injured. Johnston's passenger, Edith Johnston, 71, sustained minor injuries. All three people were wearing seat belts.Tuesday - Dale and Natalie Stockman of Muddy Creek Township reported a burglary that occurred at their Nye Lane residence between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. During the burglary, three pieces of jewelry were stolen. There were signs of forced entry and forensic evidence was obtained. Police are withholding what the evidence is until it is processed.6 p.m. Wednesday - A 17-year-old girl from Ford City and a 16-year-old girl from Kittanning were issued citations for retail theft. The Ford City teen is accused of trying to steal $134 worth of clothing from JC Penny in Clearview Mall in Center Township. The Kittanning teen is accused of trying to steal a $9.99 shirt.Sunday - Michael Zilka, 42, of Renfrew reported the theft of approximately 900 pounds of copper from his residence at 283 Beacon Road between 7 a.m. Sept. 23 and 10 a.m. Sunday.9 a.m. Sept. 22 - A warrant was issued for Kurt J. Leinbach, 19, on the charge of escape after he left his residence at 255 Criley Road in Clearfield Township, where he was placed on house arrest. Anyone with information about Leinenbach's location should call state police at 724-284-8100.
Monday - A vehicle driven by Willard H. Sutton Jr., 60, of Centerville, Pa., struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Bernard B. Davis Jr., 52, of Sandy Lake Township on Route 173 in Wolf Creek Township. Sutton was southbound on the highway while Davis was stopped for another vehicle turning left. Davis sustained minor injuries while Sutton was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
12:40 p.m. Sept. 21 - A vehicle driven by Marianne Cristello, 50, of Freeport nearly struck a vehicle driven by Eugene McBee, 45, of Freeport while southbound on Route 28 near Buffalo Township. When McBee blew his horn after being cut off by Cristello's vehicle in the left lane, Cristello was startled and traveled off the right edge of the southbound lanes onto the shoulder before overcompensating, skidding across both lanes through the median, traveling across both northbound lanes of Route 28 and striking the guard rail on the east edge of the roadway. While Cristello's vehicle was crossing the median, stones were thrown through the air and struck McBee's vehicle, causing damage. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured.
