Seneca student faces child porn charge
JACKSON TWP — A student at Seneca Valley Senior High School is charged with felony possession of child pornography.
Joshua Speicher, 19, of Cranberry Township was charged Monday after receiving three pictures on his cell phone in October 2015 of a 14-year-old, middle school female student with exposed breasts.
Speicher, who was 18 when he received the photos, “immediately” admitted to having the pictures when asked by Jackson Township police officer Jason Young, according to police reports.
The report does not state how Speicher received the pictures.
“(He) asked if he could 'just delete them,'” the report states.
“Speicher stated that he 'just wanted to be honest' and apologized for having the photos.”
The female student provided officer Young screen shots of messages sent to her by Speicher where he asked for a “pic” and she responded with “No.”
Speicher then offered money for the photograph. She did not provide pictures to him.
The report states an intermediate high school student told a juvenile probation officer about Speicher having the pictures, prompting the investigation.
Speicher's phone was later searched and no other nude or inappropriate photographs were found.
Speicher was arraigned and released on $2,000 bond.
His preliminary hearing is at 10:15 a.m. March 8.
