Freeport's Schmidt helps Lions sweep
ERIE — Freeport graduate Ashleigh Schmidt tossed her ninth complete game of the season — a two-hitter — in helping Penn State Behrend’s softball team sweep Alfred State in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference quarterfinals.
Behrend won the games 9-1 and 10-2. Schmidt won the first game and improved to 9-1 on the season.
