Voters of all parties are reminded that they can vote on three questions that will appear on the ballot in the May 18 primary election.

Acting Secretary of State Veronica Degraffenreid said the primaries are normally restricted to Democrats and Republicans, who vote on their candidates for the general election in November.

While voters of other parties cannot vote on candidates, they can vote on the ballot questions.

All three ballot questions in Butler County are regarding proposed constitutional amendments.

Two of the questions deal with disaster declarations, and one relates to equal rights for all races and ethnicities.

The deadline to register to vote in next month's primary election is May 3.

Senior citizens in Butler County can enjoy a free movie night May 26 at the Starlight Drive-In in Center Township.The county commissioners on Wednesday approved the measure to show three movies on different screens at a cost not to exceed $3,050.The cost will be covered by grant funds received by the Area Agency on Aging.Commissioner Kim Geyer lauded the Area Agency on Aging and its director, Beth Herold, for innovating creative activities for the county's seniors.The movies to be shown are “The Fugitive,” “The Right Stuff” and “First Wives Club.”The project was created to promote the county's senior centers.
