ADAMS TWP — A homicide investigation is ongoing in Adam Township this morning.

The state police major case team is handling the case that came in about 3:15 a.m. on Downieville Road near the James Austin Co.

Police have released few details while they continue to gather evidence and speak to neighbors.

The unknown victim, a man, was pronounced dead at 5:38 a.m. His body was found in front of a house.

A cause of death was not immediately disclosed. An autopsy was planned later today.

Authorities learned of the killing at 3:17 a.m. when a neighbor notified 911.

Adams Township police went to the scene. State police, Cranberry Township police and the Northern Regional Police Department also assisted.
