POLICE REPORTS

These items have been collected from various police departments.

Saturday — George Early, 49, of Bruin was arrested on three warrants following a traffic stop on East Brady Street. Early, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was placed in the Butler County Jail on the warrants.

Saturday — Police arrested Amber Keebler, 30, of Butler on multiple warrants, and later placed her in the Butler County Prison.

11:49 p.m. Friday — James R. Penwell, 26, was arrested after he allegedly head-butted a woman at his home on the 500 block of West Wayne Street.

Police said multiple calls about a man and woman involved in an apparent domestic dispute led them to the home, where they found the defendant, victim and another woman arguing outside.

“Penwell openly admitted (he head-butted the victim) ...” according to court documents. The victim told officers that she felt “a lot of pain” above her right eye, where he allegedly hit her using his head.

Police also accused the defendant of yelling profanities and racial slurs in the street loud enough to be heard.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Penwell on charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.

Friday — Police said Tamela Stevens, 45, of Butler was caught with suspected crack cocaine after she was arrested on a warrant on Pillow Street. She was nabbed following a traffic stop.

She was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant.

6:48 p.m. Saturday — Donovan T. Barnes, 18, was arrested on charges he assaulted his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at his apartment on the 800 block of East Jefferson Street.The 20-year-old victim told police that the defendant slammed her against the wall and choked her while holding her down on a bed, according to court documents.He is also accused of covering the victim's mouth with his hand and not letting her leave the apartment.District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Barnes on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail following arraignment.

Saturday — Michael L. Hutchinson, 23, of Butler was arraigned on charges he assaulted another man in April at a home in Oakland Township.Hutchinson is accused of pushing the victim to the ground around 1:30 a.m. April 6, according to court documents, punching him and kicking while he was still down. Police obtained an arrest warrant for him in April.On Friday, Butler police arrested the defendant on the warrant. He was placed in the Butler County Prison until his arraignment by District Judge Lewis Stoughton on a charge of simple assault. He was later released on $10,000 unsecured bail.June 11 — Alexander J. Sovek, 29, of Butler was charged with being more than twice the state’s legal limit for alcohol in connection with a traffic stop last month in Butler.He was pulled over shortly after midnight May 25 for driving a car with faulty taillights on West Jefferson Street.Police asked him to submit to field sobriety test, but he declined, according to court documents, saying that he “did not want to waste our time and admitted to being drunk.”A breath test subsequently showed Sovek’s blood-alcohol level was 0.166 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.He is charged with driving under the influence and a lighting violation.
