1 injured in Route 19 crash

CRANBERRY TWP — One person was injured Tuesday morning after being run into by a box truck.

The unidentified driver was traveling south along Route 19 shortly before 9 a.m. in a Jeep Renegade and was attempting to turn into the Ron Lewis dealership parking lot by Manor Road when the truck ran into him, witnesses said.

The driver was taken to an ambulance via stretcher and was transported to UPMC Presbyterian. While he was conscious, his condition is unknown.

The Renegade sustained rear and side damage while the truck had minor front damage.

Two brick columns were also damaged by the crash being built by Kevin Flaherty Contracting.

“I would have been right there,” Flaherty said.

Flaherty said he arrived an hour late to construct the columns, but said he is thankful he was late.

“Nobody got killed,” he said. “That's the important thing.”

Another witness said he saw the Jeep try to turn into the parking lot with his turn signal on.

It is unknown if charges will be filed.

Cranberry Township police and EMS were on the scene.

Traffic was not affected by the crash.
