BUTLER TWP — Local officials joined employees and business partners of Baglier Buick GMC and Baglier Mazda for a warmup at the new Baglier “Bull Pen” detail shop Wednesday evening.

The open house was held in advance of the official opening on Friday or Monday.

Owner Dennis Baglier said the 13,000-square-foot shop will be used to prepare used vehicles taken in by the dealerships on trade, adding that the facility won't be open to the public.

“We're just showing off our investment in the community to celebrate before everything gets busy and dirty,” Baglier said Wednesday.

Used car preparation once was done at the dealerships, but was moved to other locations to create needed space, Baglier said.Prepping used cars is currently done at the former Kerven Subaru dealership on New Castle Road and the former Twin Willows Auto Sales building in Valencia, both of which Baglier rents. He said the operations at both of those facilities will be consolidated in the newly-opened Bull Pen.The Baglier family of dealerships employ about 130 people, 17 of whom will work at the new detail shop just off Route 8 on Comfort Lane.Baglier expects to hire more employees as the businesses grow.
