Freeport rallies past Valley in OT; Kittanning edges Knoch at buzzer

Brendan Lynch scored 33 points as Freeport rallied in the second half to force overtime and edged Valley 72-67 in high school boys basketball action Tuesday night.

Freeport (2-3, 1-1) was aided by its free-throw shooting, going 32-of-48 in the game.

Valley was just 10-of-22 from the line.

Robbie Miller added 21 points and Ethan McCormick had 15 rebounds for the Yellowjackets.

Kittanning 68, Knoch 67 — Sterling Henry hit a layup at the buzzer for Kittanning (5-0, 2-0) to sink the Knights by a point in this heartbreaking section loss.

Henry, who had a game-high 30 points, lost his dribble before regaining possession in time to put up the game-winner.

Marc Vaughn paced Knoch (2-3, 1-1) with 21 points.

The Wildcats hit all 13 of their free-throw attempts in the victory.
