Penn State Extension is hosting free webinars for farmers and small business owners, including sole proprietors, to understand the Paycheck Protection Program designed to help businesses keep their workforce employed during the COVID-19 crisis.
Authorized under the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the federal loan program is meant to provide relief for crucial small businesses.
“Penn State Extension is committed to engaging with Pennsylvania's agricultural sector and ensuring the viability of the industry for future generations,” said Brent Hales, director of Penn State Extension and associate dean in the College of Agricultural Sciences.

The Mingle on Main scheduled for May 21 on Main Street in Saxonburg has been canceled by borough council due to concerns about social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.At this time, only the May event has been canceled. Mingle on Main is normally held monthly during the spring and summer.
