Bly, Smith

Tara and Evan Smith

Tara Bly of Chicora and Evan Smith of Butler were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. July 15 at The Mansion in Penn Township. The Rev. James Higgins officiated. A reception followed at The Mansion.

The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Amy Bly of Chicora. She is the granddaughter of Dave and Shirley Kepple of Chicora and Roland and Joan Bly of Karns City.

Parents of the bridegroom are Vance Smith III of Columbia, S.C., and Jamie Lanier of Cincinnati, Ohio. His grandparents are Elizabeth Smith of Oakmont and Sarah and Vernon Wise Jr. of Butler.

The honor attendant was Meghan Baker of Pittsburgh. Bridesmaids included Holly Bly, Emily Bly and Becca Bly, all of Chicora; Sarah Jane Smith of Cincinnati; Courtney Smith of Orlando, Fla.; and Mallory Baker of Pittsburgh. Hannah Bossinger of Chicora and Zoe Bly of Karns City served as flower girls.

Performing the duties of best man was Banks Baker of Pittsburgh. Ushers included Addison Lanier III, Asher Lanier and Taylor Lanier, all of Cincinnati; Bennett Smith and Ryan Sarel, both of Pittsburgh; and Vance Smith IV of Orlando. The ring bearers were Noah Kepple and Alec Bard, both of Chicora.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Karns City High School and a 2004 graduate of Penn State University. She works as a graduate assistant at Indiana (Pa.) University and as a therapist for Family Behavioral Resources.

The bridegroom graduated in 2001 from The Phelps School. He works as an advertising salesman for the Butler Eagle.

Following a honeymoon trip to Scotland, the couple is making their home in Butler.
