Knoch boys ousted
The Knoch boys track and field team defeated Moon 84-65, but lost to Greensburg Salem 82-68 and host North Allegheny 99-51 at the WPIAL Class AAA team semifinals Wednesday.
The Tigers also defeated Moon 107.5-42.5 and Greensburg Salem 101-49 to advance to next Thursday's WPIAL finals along with three other schools.
No other details were available.
Elsewhere:
• The Karns City boys swept all 18 events in routing A-C Valley 116-34 and Redbank Valley 115-35 while the Falcons did defeat the Bulldogs 89-59 in KSAC action.
Emily Schumacher won the 400, 800 and the long and triple jumps to lead the Gremlins girls team to a 119-26 victory over A-C Valley and 117-33 win over Redbank Valley.
• Scott Booth won the pole vault, but the Union boys track team still fell 102-38 to Clarion-Limestone and 113-36 to North Clarion in this KSAC meet while the Union girls fell to Clarion-Limestone and North Clarion, 126-24 and 107-43, respectively.
