Grubbs, Mertz

Becky and Chris Mertz

Becky Grubbs of Saxonburg and Chris Mertz of Slippery Rock were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 at Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Jim Gordon officiated. A reception followed at Butler Days Inn.

The bride is the daughter of Dan and Pauline Grubbs of Saxonburg. Parents of the bridegroom are Ed and Linda Mertz of Oil City.

The honor attendant was Lauren Skrocki of Lyndora. Bridesmaids were Emily Lefever of Saxonburg; Addie Sanitate and Kim Powell, both of West Middlesex; Michelle Nelson of Silver Spring, Md.; and Jen Mertz of Mercer. The flower girl was Bailey Beers of Meridian.

Performing the duties of best man was Eddie Mertz of Mercer. Ushers were Ed Joyce of Allentown, Mike Willyoung of Cooperstown, Brian Reed of Oil City and Matt Grubbs of Saxonburg. The ring bearer was Brenden Dreher of Butler.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Knoch High School and 2005 graduate of Slippery Rock University. She works as a special-education teacher at Longmore Academy.

The bridegroom graduated in 1999 from Oil City High School. He works for North Country Brewery.

The couple is making their home in Slippery Rock.
