CLINTON TWP — The Jefferson Township woman who fell out of a moving pickup last Sunday died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Alexis Arthur, 53, died 1:52 a.m. Monday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

State police report Arthur fell out of the pickup along Route 228 before 5:29 p.m. Sunday.

Trooper Nathan Brown said the driver, Kenneth Wirtz, Arthur’s boyfriend, subsequently stopped and put her in the truck to take her to the hospital.

Wirtz, also of Jefferson Township, was on Route 8 in Penn Township when he called 911 for medical assistance.

Arthur was taken by ambulance to a medical helicopter, which flew her to the hospital.

Brown said the couple was in the midst of a dispute when Arthur fell.

“They were having an argument,” he said.

However, police have ruled out foul play. Brown said the investigation is closed.

Wirtz could not be reached for comment.

According to Arthur’s obituary, she previously worked as a computer draftsman for the company Laser Drive, was a co-owner of a lawn maintenance company in Saxonburg and was a volunteer for the Lighthouse Foundation.
