PITTSBURGH - Visitors to Carnegie Science Center's Rangos Omnimax Theater on Saturday will experience one of the greatest expeditions in modern times, the first complete descent of the Nile River, in a breathtaking new film "Mystery of the Nile."This new cinematic adventure documents the epic journey of a team of explorers who discovered the history, dangers and dependencies of the Nile.For 114 days, this team, led by Pasquale Scaturro and Gordon Brown, face nearly insurmountable challenges as they make their way 3,260 miles down the Blue Nile and Nile rivers, traversing three countries in some of the world's remotest regions. Deadly crocodiles and hippos, the world's most dangerous whitewater rapids, gunfire from bandits, malaria, and temperatures topping 120 degrees are just some of the obstacles they face."Mystery of the Nile" will start showing Saturday at the Carnegie Science Center, One Allegheny Ave. on Pittsburgh's North Shore across the street from Heinz Field.Parking is free with admission. CRANBERRY TWP - The Comtra Theatre will conduct auditions for "Jekyll and Hyde" and "Honk" at the theater on Route 19."Honk" auditions will be from 2;30 to 5 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The Associated Artists of Butler County will host a storytelling and book signing by author Al Aronowitz from 1 to 4 p.m. June 19 at the AABC Art Center, 344 S. Main St.His new book is "Bob Dylan and The Beatles: Volume One of the Best of the Blacklisted Journalist."Acoustic music will be provided by Chuck Moses.On display at the Art Center will be three different exhibits.In the mezzanine and underground galleries will be photography by Jennifer Gill. PITTSBURGH - Two area musicians will play alongside Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra musicians for the Community Side-By-Side program at 7 p.m. June 22 at Heinz Hall, 600 Penn Ave.Playing with the symphony will be Bonnie Myers, first violin, who is orchestra director for the South Butler School District; and G. Warren Smith, first violin, who is a retired chemistry professor and university president involved in Butler County community development, Moraine Trails Council Boys Scouts of America, and Slippery Rock Borough Planning Commission.The program will include Felix Mendelssohn's overture to "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and Johannes Brahms' "Concerto in D Major for Violin and Orchestra."Call 412-392-4900.

PITTSBURGH - Jazz in the Garden will take place June 26, July 31 and Aug. 28 at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, One Schenley Park.The concerts will be held rain or shine from 1 to 3 p.m. in the conservatory's outdoor garden.
