3:36 p.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Paul Neigh, 77, of Butler and a vehicle driven by Jumogolima Idoniboye, 56, of Butler collided on Main Street.3:11 a.m. Tuesday — John Jameel Jackson, 37, of Butler was charged with simple assault, resisting arrest and public drunkenness after police responded to a domestic call to the home of his ex-girlfriend, Lydia Marie Bowman, 40, at 400 W. Wayne St. Jackson allegedly hit Bowman, who is in a wheelchair, in the face. Police reported swelling above her right eye.

4:30 p.m. May 12 — Rachel Elizabeth Ross, 22, of Butler was charged with retail theft and possession of a controlled substance. She allegedly stole $200 worth of merchandise from Walmart over two months. Police found a controlled substance in her possession for which she did not have a valid prescription.

Sunday — Cynthia J. Kovocovski, 55, was arrested after an investigation into suspected drug trafficking at her home in the 200 block of Hallet Street, Butler.Officers got a search warrant for her home after she allegedly sold $50 worth of crack cocaine to a police informant. The search turned up assorted drug contraband, including smoking pipes and packaging materials, authorities said.Butler police assisted the drug task force in the investigation.Kovocovski was arraigned on charges of delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, all felonies. She also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.She was placed in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail, following arraignment.Dean R. Potts, 43, who also lives at the home, was charged by summons with possession of drug paraphernalia.

9:51 p.m. Monday — A 22-year-old West Sunbury man lost control of his pickup truck and crashed into two unoccupied cars on Route 138 in Concord Township, authorities said.The man was westbound when his truck went off the north berm and into a hay field. Moments later it returned to the road, crossed over the eastbound lane and hit two cars in the driveway of a home.A police report was not immediately available and the driver's name was not known. He reportedly claimed the crash happened when he swerved to avoid a deer in the road.The West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the scene.Monday — Police charged David N. Jones Jr., 43, of Cabot with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop at 2:46 a.m. May 2 on Route 356 near Headland Road in Summit Township. A breath test showed Jones' blood-alcohol level was 0.201 percent, or more than 2½ times the state's 0.08 percent legal limit.In addition to driving under the influence, Jones is charged with careless driving and a lane violation.9:50 p.m. Sunday — Richard E. Wallace, 40, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman at his Scott Ridge Road home in Lancaster Township. He is accused of grabbing the alleged victim by her throat and punching her in the head. She suffered injuries to the face, neck and arms.Wallace is charged with simple assault and harassment. He is in Butler County Prison on $20,000 bail.2:15 a.m. Sunday — Timothy Daniel Kramer, no age given, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of DUI after a two-car crash on Route 8 in Brady Township.Police said Kramer's car crossed the center line and into the path of an oncoming car driven by Caleb J. Hoefler, no age given, of Meadville, Crawford County.10:09 p.m. Friday — Frank J. Wotus, 26, of Summit Township was arrested for DUI on Route 8 at Clearview Mall in Center Township. Police initially pulled over Wotus' car for having dark window tint, according to court documents.The suspect, who smelled of alcohol, admitted he had consumed four beers that night. He later was given a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.138 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated in Pennsylvania.Wotus is charged with DUI, driving a vehicle with illegal sunscreening, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.12:59 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Laura M. Conti, 24, of New Castle struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township.9:45 a.m. May 9 — No one was injured when a dump truck caught fire on Route 422 just east of Russell Road in Clearfield Township. The fire started in the triaxle truck's wheel area after a right rear tire blew out.Police said the driver, Rodney G. Cook, 59, of Worthington, Armstrong County, was able to pull over and escape before the entire rear of the truck erupted in flames.Herman and East Butler volunteer firefighters put out the blaze. The eastbound lanes of Route 422 were closed for about two hours.

4 p.m. Monday — An engagement ring valued at $8,000 and other jewelry were taken in a burglary at a home on Fox Road in Worthington.Saturday — An unknown youth smashed a mailbox in the 2100 block of Guthrie Road in Manor Township. The vandalism happened between 1 and 9 a.m.

Thursday — Guns, jewelry and money totaling $8,210 was stolen in a burglary at a home in the 700 block of Studebaker Road in Perry Township. A window was damaged in the break-in that happened between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Police remind motorists the holiday enforcement period for highway safety begins 12:01 a.m. Friday and ends at midnight Monday.
