5:10 p.m. Wednesday — Kathi Jo Bartley, 45, was arrested after she allegedly struck her boyfriend with her hand while holding a pen during an argument over a cell phone. The man suffered a cut on his left cheek.
Bartley was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and released on her own recognizance.
[naviga:h3]Butler Twp Police[/naviga:h3]
Thursday — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Joshua J. White, 30, on charges he assaulted his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at their home on Randolph Street in Lyndora. He is accused of hitting the woman in the face causing minor injuries. White, who was gone by the time police showed up, is charged with simple assault and harassment.
11:43 p.m. Wednesday — Benjamin M. Beers, 26, of Butler was involved in a vehicle accident that damaged two boats and two trailers on the 300 block of Whitestown Road. Police said he fled the scene after the crash. Police cited Beers for hit-and-run, failing to stop and give information or render aid after an accident, careless driving and a stop sign violation.
5:20 p.m. Wednesday — An unknown driver in a Lexus traveling north on North Duffy Road struck two mailboxes and a stop sign after veering east off the road. The vehicle sustained front-end damage but continued northbound without stopping. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run accident is asked to call police at 724-285-9600, or 911.
[naviga:h3]Grove City Police[/naviga:h3]
Wednesday — Police reported that they cited a 16-year-old student with disorderly conduct for punching and injuring another student last week at the Grove City High School. Both students are 16-year-old boys and the incident happened in the hallway between classes. The victim apparently suffered a minor injury.
12:55 a.m. Dec. 8 — Michael A. Barkey, 24, of Volant was arrested for driving under the influence after he made an illegal left-hand turn onto Limberg Way. Police said he also twice failed using turn signals. Barkey is charged with DUI, making an improper left turn and two turn signal violations.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]
Tuesday — Police charged Matthew A. Haefner, 41, of Parker with drugged driving stemming from a welfare check call last month at a car wash in Harrisville.
Troopers said they found the defendant about 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Harrisville Car Wash after they got a call for a vehicle that reportedly had been at the pressure wash bay for more than 45 minutes.
Police took Haefner to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results later showed he had amphetamine and methamphetamine in his system, documents said.
Haefner is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and failing to notify authorities of a change of address.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]
Wednesday — Wesley Everhart, 36, of Kittanning was charged with drugged driving stemming from a one-vehicle crash last month in East Franklin Township. Police said Everhart lost control of his car about 9:20 a.m. Nov. 10 on Wible Road just south of Butler Road and struck a tree.
He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving at an unsafe speed, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
Dec. 4 — Police charged Kathy D. Gray, 54, of Pittsburgh with shoplifting about $354 in merchandise Dec. 1 at the Hilltop Plaza Walmart in East Franklin Township.
Gray was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of retail theft and possessing an instrument of crime. She is free on her own recognizance.
