May 9 — Police said Codie Rekaskie, 21, of Evans City and Michael Bastian, 20, of Renfrew tried to return four stolen extension cords valued at $151 to the Walmart at Butler Commons. Police said they were unable to return the items, and left the store with them. They have both been charged with conspiracy, retail theft and receiving stolen property. Police said Rekaskie was also charged with attempted theft by deception.
April 9 and April 27 — Police said Joshua Snow, 25, of Bruin entered Walmart at Butler Commons on April 9 and used a pair of pliers to remove a security device from a 55-inch TV, damaging it. Police said Snow returned to the store on April 27 and stole a different 55-inch TV valued at $498.
He was subsequently charged with criminal mischief, retail theft and receiving stolen property.
