More than 10M vaccine doses administered in state
More than 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered statewide, including thousands in Butler County.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported Friday that 10,066,220 doses have been administered, including 6,031,816 first and single doses and 4,034,404 second doses.
The department said 4,399,578 people are fully vaccinated and 1,632,238 people are partially vaccinated. In the county, 78,299 people are fully vaccinated and 14,408 are partially vaccinated. About 66,000 people are getting vaccinated every day.
The Butler Health System said anyone age 12 and older can walk in to receive a vaccination or schedule an appointment at its clinics at the Clearview Mall and Clarion Hospital.
BHS reported that it is treating seven patients with COVID-19, including two in intensive care at Butler Memorial Hospital. Clarion Hospital has one COVID-19 patient in intensive care.
Fourteen new cases in the county raise the total number of confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 11,053, and 1,823 new cases across the state raise the statewide total to 1,193,355.
No new deaths occurred in the county, but 25 new deaths in the state bring the total to 26,990.
In licensed nursing and personal care homes, there are 71,564 cases among residents and 15,283 cases among employees. Of the deaths in the state, 13,245 have been residents of nursing or personal care facilities.
About 28,547 of the cases in the state are among health care workers.
There are 1,309 people hospitalized with COVID-19, including 310 in intensive care. The 14-day average number of people hospitalized per day is decreasing after peaking at 2,661, which is slightly below what it was at the height of the spring 2020 peak.
