JOHNSTOWN — The Slippery Rock University baseball team scored 12 runs in the final three innings Thursday, rallying for a 14-4 win over No. 19 West Chester and staying alive in the PSAC Tournament.
SRU (30-18) returns to action at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the double-elimination tourney.
Tyler Walters hit a grand slam in the seventh to spark The Rock’s rally. He has 15 homers and 50 RBI on the season. Grove City High graduate Matt Gordon struck out nine in six innings of work and Butler graduate Wyatt Daugherty recorded his ninth save.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University softball shortstop Kailey Myers has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team.
Athletes must maintain at least a 3.30 GPA. This makes her eligible for the Academic All-America team.
Myers was recently named All-Atlantic Region and PSAC West Softball Athlete of the Week.

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — Seneca Valley graduate and Baldwin Wallace University senior defender Taylor Giordanengo has been named All-Ohio Athletic Conference honorable mention in women’s lacrosse.
Giordanengo recorded a season-best 25 ground balls for the Yellow Jackets and was second on the team with a career-best 27 caused turnovers.
