Butler Twp Police3:09 p.m. Thursday — Joan C. Wilhelm, 84, of Cabot was hurt when a vehicle rear-ended her car on New Castle Road at Alameda Park Road. Wilhelm suffered a minor injury. The other driver, a 16-year-old girl who police did not identify, was cited for careless driving.
State Police, Butler12:34 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Andrew M. Falconer, 19, of Canonsburg, Washington County, rear-ended another car stopped at a traffic light on Route 173 in front of the North Country Brewing Co. Ronald W. Owens, 52, of New Castle was the other driver.March 11 — A tow-behind welder and three generators were stolen in a burglary at a home in the 200 block of West Eldorado Road in Parker Township. A police report did not indicate if there are any suspects in the break-in that happened March 10 or 11.
State Police, Franklin4 p.m. Tuesday — Nicole L. Torchia, 27, of Rimersburg was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Cranberry Township, Venango County. Torchia was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by Roselean L. Phelps, 51, of Rimersburg that ran a red light and collided with another pickup on Route 257 at the Cranberry Mall. Torchia, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to UPMC Northwest in Seneca with minor injuries. Police cited Phelps for a red light violation. Douglas H. Fox, 70, of Cranberry was the other driver.
State Police, Kittanning12:53 a.m. Sunday — A 31-year-old Kittanning man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Graff Avenue and Route 66 in Manor Township.8:10 p.m. Thursday — Charles A. Richardson, 43, of Kittanning allegedly stole an RCA 10-inch tablet from the Hilltop Plaza Walmart in East Franklin Township. Police said Richardson, who was previously banned from the store, faces charges of retail theft and defiant trespass.5:14 p.m. Wednesday — Three people face drug-related charges following a traffic stop in South Buffalo Township. Michael A. Anthony, 44, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after he was pulled over on Route 28 at Exit 18.Police said Anthony, who also was driving with a suspended license-DUI related, was found with a syringe.One of Anthony’s passengers, Maudie E. Cochran, 26, of Kittanning, was found with 22 stamp bags for suspected heroin and other contraband. She was placed in the Armstrong County Jail on a probation violation.A second passenger, Blake R. Copenhaver, 21, of Rural Valley, also was found with suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.
State Police, Mercer4:15 p.m. Saturday — Two Hispanic men are suspected of shoplifting at the Calvin Klein store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. One acted as a lookout while the other grabbed two stacks of polo shirts.Both suspects ran out of the store and fled in a black, newer model Ford Explorer.Thursday — The mother of a 16-year-old Pine Township boy found a small amount of marijuana in his bedroom at their home on Liberty Street Extension, and notified authorities. The boy, who police did not identify, faces misdemeanor drug possession charges in Mercer County juvenile court.Thursday — A burglar walked away empty-handed after prying open 10 arcade games — which turned out to be empty — at the SJA Pitch & Putt in Perry Township, Mercer County. The crook, however, caused about $4,000 in damage.A police report did not indicate if they have a suspect, who pried at and kicked in a rear door to get into the store. Along with breaking into the arcades games, the suspect damaged a bubble gum machine. The burglary happened between Tuesday and Thursday.
