11:52 a.m. Friday — A van owned by Michael Musick of Butler was struck by an unknown vehicle while parked on Third Avenue near Cunningham Street.9 a.m. Thursday — A car owned by Bart B. Covert of Butler was struck by a dark-colored vehicle while parked on Maryland Avenue near Dubois Street.
1:29 p.m. Thursday — Timothy L. Bittner, 47, of Uniontown was charged with two counts of felony retail theft after he allegedly swapped the price tag from one vacuum cleaner at Wal-Mart for the tag on a lower-priced model and attempted to purchase it. He was placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail.
5:30 a.m. Friday — A car driven by David J. Boyle, 20, of Cabot crashed into a utility pole on Schiebel Road in Summit Township. Boyle was cited for driving at an unsafe speed and accidents involving damage to unattended property.6:16 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Robert Lyons, 37, of Grove City struck a deer on Route 422 near West Park Road in Muddy Creek Township. Lyons and his two passengers were wearing seat belts and were not injured.
9:48 a.m. Thursday — Theron Allen Simmons, 44, of Ashtabula, Ohio, was arrested for driving under the influence, public drunkenness and driving with a suspended license after police were called to the Sheetz on Butler Pike in Springfield Township. He was placed in Mercer County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.Nov. 3 — Several bags of merchandise valued at $800 were reported stolen between 4 and 8:30 p.m. from a vehicle at the Prime Outlets parking lot in Springfield Township.
8:35 p.m. Wednesday — An SUV driven by Dian Bowser, 36, of Shelocta crashed into a guardrail on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township. She had minor injuries and was wearing a seat belt. She was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.3 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Mark Hartman, 28, of Ford City crashed into a tree on a North Buffalo Township road. He was not injured and was wearing a seat belt. He was cited for roadways laned for travel.2:40 p.m. Tuesday — An older, white male approached a Freeport woman along Freeport Road in South Buffalo Township and claimed to be a police officer. Police are investigating.
7:50 p.m. Thursday — Two men and a woman were discovered trying to steal various items from Keene Scrap Metal in Perry Township. The men fled on foot, but the woman was found in her car on Route 368. Charges forthcoming upon investigation.2:20 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Maciej Bakowski, 26, of New York struck a deer on I-80 westbound in Allegheny Township. He was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
