Cancer facility groundbreaking set for April 4

A groundbreaking for the Allegheny Health Network’s new cancer facility will take place at 10:30 a.m. April 4 in Pullman Center Business Park.

Renderings of the finished site at 160 Hollywood Drive will be available at the ceremony, said Stephanie Waite, senior public relations specialist. Doctors will be present for interviews.

“We’re expecting local officials in attendance,” Waite said.

Butler Township approved the conditional use application to reduce the required off-street parking spaces servicing its intended 30,000-square foot cancer clinic near the business park in Butler, which would house offices and the clinic.

The clinic would be built on two properties zoned for heavy industrial use. AHN would buy a lot owned by the Community Development Corporation of Butler County and part of another lot owned by RNC Holdings of Monaca for the clinic.

It was previously reported that the clinic could open as early as January 2019. In addition to Butler, AHN is planning to build community cancer clinics in Beaver and Monroeville.
