Zella Wright Myers, 92, of Zelienople died Saturday at Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.

Born Nov. 22, 1916, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Meeder) Wright.

She married her beloved husband, LaVon, in 1934 and had an inspiring 64-year marriage.

Mrs. Myers was a member of English Lutheran Church in Zelienople.

She is remembered by many as the helpful and knowledgeable sales person at the Village Shop in Zelienople, where she dedicated many years of service.

She lived her life in devotion to her family. She was generous and always was the first to offer a helping hand to friends and family alike. She enjoyed needle crafts, particularly quilting and cross stitch. She also enjoyed playing bridge and 500 and had been a member of several card clubs. An outstanding cook and baker, holiday meals were made much more enjoyable because of her wonderful recipes.

She is survived by her daughters, Marjorie M. Pirie of Morro Bay, Calif., and Sue Ann (Edward) Alderete of Nipomo, Calif.; a son-in-law, Ronald Sturgeon of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister-in-law, Weltha Myers of Zelienople; and eight grandchildren, Cynda Halin, Barbara (Frank) Hiebert, James Fosnaught, Judd Sturgeon, Kirstie (Erik) Ostberg, Natalie (Barry) Seeman, Michele Alderete and Julie (Bo) Rottenborn. She also is survived by seven great-grandchildren, Jesse Barto, Joshua Halin, Katherine Partridge, Emma, Adam and Annika Ostberg and Andrew Sturgeon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVon Martin Myers, on Nov. 1, 1998; a daughter, Marcella Sturgeon on Sept. 6, 2009; a brother, Vernon Wright in 1924; and a sister, Irene Wright Blum in 2008.
